Dr. Florence Dedzoe-Dzokotoe Plockey is an esteemed academic librarian, knowledge management expert, and passionate advocate for preserving Ghana’s cultural heritage through digital and visual storytelling. With over two decades of experience in information science, she specializes in bridging traditional knowledge systems with modern academic research, ensuring that indigenous narratives remain integral to education and innovation.

As the University Librarian at Accra Technical University (ATU), Dr. Plockey has led transformative initiatives that integrate digital technologies, open-access resources, and information literacy programs. Under her leadership, the ATU Library has become a hub for academic excellence, fostering creativity, collaboration, and lifelong learning. She has spearheaded internationally recognized projects, including the ATU Library Webinar Series, the ATU Library Mentorship Series, and the International Convention on Quality Assurance and Transformation of Libraries.

Beyond academia, Dr. Plockey serves as a Board Member of Foto4Change, where she contributes her expertise in knowledge preservation and visual storytelling. Passionate about documenting Ghana’s rich cultural heritage, she supports initiatives that use photography, video, and immersive media to capture and safeguard indigenous traditions, historical narratives, and local craftsmanship. Her work ensures that these stories remain accessible to future generations while also reaching global audiences.
Her research interests include Indigenous Knowledge, Knowledge Management, Library Management, and Information Literacy. She has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals and presented at conferences worldwide. A dedicated mentor and thought leader, she organizes workshops and training sessions to equip researchers, students, and professionals with the skills to navigate the evolving information landscape while integrating cultural preservation into academic and creative spaces.
Dr. Plockey is a Vice Chairman of the Governing Council of the Consortium of Academic and Research Libraries in Ghana (CARLIGH) and a fellow of the Mortenson Library Leadership Programme (Illinois, US). She has also collaborated with international institutions such as the Nordic Africa Institute (Sweden) and remains an active member of professional organizations, including the Ghana Library Association (GLA) and the American Library Association.

Through her work in academia, cultural preservation, and visual storytelling, Dr. Plockey continues to drive innovation, redefine the role of libraries, and champion Ghana’s rich heritage on both local and global platforms.
